I had the great pleasure of working with Bliss magazine for their Winter Bliss edition. We did an amazing photshoot at GhostTown venue, a unique location centered around rustic buildings reminiscent of well...a ghost town! Imagine a very rustic setting, with alot of glam and decor to create the prefect setting for a dreamy winter wedding. You know its going to be a gorgeous shoot when it is styled by Cari Beamer of Flora Fetish !

I have had a long time attraction to paper. Weird, huh? Who is attracted to paper? I have a collection of handmade papers for all those letters I have planned to handwrite, and a large collection of books I plan to read some day. I can hardly resist going into Paperie stores to look at wrappings, cards, and all that wonderful handmade paper from around the world. 
So when the idea of using old books for wedding and event decor surfaced, I was hooked! My passion for vintage, paper, and love of handwritten fancy fonts may say I was born in the wrong era. Beautiful script writing seems to be a lost art.
If you have a passion for reading (or paper!) consider how you can use books integrated into the decor of your event, or your engagement shoot.

I love the use of book in wedding decor for centerpieces, place cards, and tabletop decor. This lovely couple below even made the ceremony space look like a library...cuteness, and clever!

{Mid-Life Madness} ...a 40th Celebration

Who says a 40th birthday celebration has to be all doom and gloom? It was a blast to be a part of this surprise celebration for Jeff, who recently entered the ranks of  "the forties". The Midlife Madness theme was mad indeed! Think mix of MadMen merged with with an animal vibe, and bit of 'keep Austin weird' whimsy. Event planner Cara Carney certainly had a vision she fully delivered. The crowd enjoyed comfort food, Jeffs signature cocktail The Manhattan, and dance tunes by DJ Soul Happening.  Several lounge areas were created in the front yard of this Pemberton Heights home to make it extra cozy for guests. We were thrilled to be a part of this very fun event.
